Data Protection Declaration

Version dated 29.03.2026
The Complementary Therapy practice Alquimia Therapy / I, Beatriz Benitez Cruz

Hereby comply with the following rules in accordance with the Data Protection Act and its corresponding regulation.
The purpose of this declaration is to inform you, as our/my client, about how we process your personal and sensitive data collected in our/my practice.

Only data related to the therapeutic treatment or relevant for providing information on potential offers are processed. This includes exclusively data that we/I have recorded with your consent, that you send to us/me, or that are found in publicly accessible directories (telephone directory, etc.). This may include general personal data (name, address, telephone number, etc.), information about your health/the progression of your illness, diagnoses already made and, if applicable, other data that you have transmitted to us/me in connection with the treatment (patient file).

This data is collected, stored, and processed exclusively in your patient file, or in the file required for administration, specifically in the billing application according to tariff 590. In both storage locations, all processing steps carried out on your data can be traced, including the persons responsible for them.

Your personal data is only shared with individuals or departments within our/my practice who need it to fulfill their contractual and legal obligations. These individuals are informed about the current data protection rules and are required to comply with them.

Your data or parts thereof are only made accessible to other persons or institutions (insurers, etc.) with your explicit consent. Court orders or the enforcement of legitimate rights by the practice constitute exceptions.

If your data is collected and processed physically, it is stored in a locked room or cabinet that is not accessible to unauthorized third parties. Electronically collected data is stored securely (firewall, password, etc.).

Unless there are contrary cantonal or other legal provisions, the data we/I have collected will be deleted twenty years after your last consultation in our/my practice.

Written communication between our/my practice and you takes place via email, SMS, or WhatsApp. The practice uses the means of communication that you use/choose as a client. You are aware of the potential risks associated with the exchange of data, particularly sensitive data (possibility of viewing by unauthorized third parties in the case of unsecure communication channels as mentioned above), and you agree to this. Administrative requests such as appointment rescheduling, copies of invoices, medical reports, and the “Waiver of Professional Secrecy” form are sent by email—either encrypted using a specific program or unencrypted with your written consent.

As a current or former client, you may request from us/me at any time a duplicate of all data we/I have collected about you in a standard electronic format. Only physically available data will be scanned for this purpose and sent to you as a PDF or paper document. Generally, the data is provided to you free of charge and within a maximum of 30 days. The person responsible for all questions relating to the processing of your personal data and the exercise of your rights is the therapist in charge of your file.
